(The Indian Pharmaceutical Association - Delhi State Branch)
The Indian Pharmaceutical Association-Delhi State Branch (IPA-DSB) is one of the most-vibrant State Branch of the IPA having more than 500 members representing a wide spectrum of the pharmaceutical fraternity. The IPADSB has been given the “Special Recognition Award 2011”, “Outstanding State Branch Award 2018” and “Best State Branch Awards for 2018 & 2019” for the excellent performance and contribution in meeting the objectives of the Association. Also, the Delhi State Branch established the first-of-its kind Pre-Pharmacy School Club within the country in the year 2010.
The IPA-DSB has six forums, viz. Regulatory Forum (RF), Industrial Forum (IF), Academic Forum (AF), Community Pharmacy Forum (CPF), Hospital Pharmacy Forum (HPF), and the recently established IPR Forum (IPRF).
The IPA-DSB also has a Students’ Forum (SF) under its fold which was formed on January 12, 2019. The first president of IPADSB-SF is Wasiuzzaman Khan, Ph.D., Jamia Hamdard who was nominated by Dr Naresh Sharma, President of IPADSB 2018-20. The present SF team nominated by the EC of IPADSB for the term 2020-22 has 5 office bearers, 22 council members and 2 college coordinators each from 46 pharmacy colleges of Delhi-NCR. The aims and objectives of the SF is to not only percolate the activities of the State Branch among the student fraternity in all the pharmacy colleges of Delhi-NCR but also highlight the common issues being faced by the student community in front of the Association for its speedy resolution.
The IPA-DSB has also signed various MoUs with different organizations like Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research University (DPSRU) Innovation & Incubation Foundation (DIIF); National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (NIPER), S.A.S. Nagar; School of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (SPER), Jamia Hamdard; and B.S. Anangpuria Institute of Pharmacy, Faridabad; among others to conduct workshops in pharma & healthcare, special short-term professional programs and other cooperative efforts set-forth in separate implementing agreements. The IPADSB also provides career guidance to pharmacy students through its PACE (Proficient Advice on Career and Education) programme.
