Dr. Naresh Sharma

Deputy Drugs Controller Dr. Naresh Sharma has obtained his Bachelor of Pharmacy from Delhi University, master’s degree in pharmacy from Birla Institute of Technology, India and Doctorate in Pharmacy from Government College, Kumaon University, India. He has an experience of more than 25 years in pharmaceutical research, manufacturing, and regulations.
He started his career in manufacturing of pharmaceuticals in 1995 and later moved to Research and Development of pharmaceutical products. His association with pharmaceutical industries lasted for more than 11 years with M/s Cadila Pharma, M/s J K Drugs, Dabur Research Foundation (anticancer wing) etc. Dr Sharma joined the Indian National Regulatory Authority in 2006 and has good experience in GMP, GCP and GLP audits. He has participated in many national and international seminars, workshops, and meetings on various areas of drugs regulations and undergone training from USFDA, Interpol and WHO.
Dr. Sharma is also acting Vice Chairman of Indian Pharmaceutical Division of manufacturers at national level, Central Executive Council Member of Indian Pharmaceutical Division and executive member of IPCA. Dr Sharma is immediate past President of Indian Pharmaceutical Association Delhi branch and awarded with Best Branch for consecutive two years during his presidentship.
He was invited to make presentations at various seminars and workshops. He has 32 recognition awards in various forums. He also published 20 research articles in various jounals.
During his tenure at Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), Dr Sharma actively participated in formulating Drugs, Clinical Trials and Cosmetics Amendments, Gazette Notifications etc, involved in strengthening Indian drug regulatory system and handled international matters such as MoU, SOI and quality issues.
